The following was published in the Sheffield Star

A former Sheffield MP who was ‘well respected in Westminster’ has died at the age of 91.

Frank Hooley won the seat of Sheffield Heeley at the 1966 general election, and was the first Labour candidate to claim the constituency. He lost it in 1970 but regained it in 1974 for another nine years.

Sheffield Heeley MP Meg Munn, whose father was Mr Hooley’s agent, said:

He was well respected in Westminster and was still remembered by many MPs when I was elected.”

Mr Hooley formerly lived in Sutton Coldfield.
