Question time in Arbourthorne

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Local MP Meg Munn was delighted to accept an invitation to visit Arbourthorne primary school recently and meet the children in Y4 and Y5.

Meg received a range of questions from the children, who aged between 8 10 years old, and she was impressed with their awareness of important issues. One student even asked a question about car tax!

She heard about the school’s ‘Community Day of Action’ where the children shared their love of books and their favourite stories through a community read. They also went out in the community delivering daffodil bulbs and core value cards to local residents, and made cards, flags and bird feeders for local residents.

Meg said:

"I always enjoy my visits to Arbourthorne, a school which has come such a long way during my time as the local MP, and which is such a happy place.

Being able to meet children like the Y4’s and Y5’s I met is really the best part of the job. I was so impressed with the questions they had prepared, and their enthusiasm was so refreshing, even though they now know everything about where I live, how much I earn, and how I old I am!

I expect to receive letters with more questions about the issues which are important to them soon."
