New bus lanes for Heeley

Thursday, February 12, 2015

Meg Munn MP recently convened a roundtable discussion about City Council’s proposals for improving the public transport offer across Sheffield.

She was joined by Councillor Leigh Bramall, Cabinet member for Business, Skills and Development, local Councillor Cate McDonald and a range of local organisations who were able to share their thoughts on the proposals.

Despite a number of local groups raising concerns about the proposals when they were initially announced last year the meeting was both positive and productive. Councillor Bramall assured those present of the council’s commitment to working with key stakeholders to develop a plan which will have the support of the local community.

Meg said:

“It was important to get key groups together to discuss these proposals. We all want to see the public transport across the city improved, but it’s important that the council takes on board the concerns of the local community when developing its final plans. I am assured that Councillor Bramall will do just that.”
